Meet the Owner
Val Traoré
My passion for the trades began as a child watching This Old House, inspired by the pride and quality workmanship of craftsmen like Norm Abram. After three decades leading transformational change in the nonprofit sector—most recently as a dedicated Executive Director—I made the bold decision to return to my encore career as a socialpreneur in the home improvement industry.
I founded A Woman’s Brush Painters & Remodelers to build beautiful spaces and disrupt an industry where women are often underrepresented and underestimated. What began as a passion project rooted in childhood memories and hands-on learning evolved into a certified, woman-owned company serving residential and commercial clients across Maryland.
Today, our team brings the same discipline, heart, and mission-driven leadership I honed in the nonprofit world to every job site. Whether we are repainting a 250-room college dormitory or transforming a private family home, our Google 5-star rating and MDOT certification reflect our commitment to excellence. At my core, I am still in the business of service—just with a paintbrush instead of a policy brief.
